Refugee Kids Education Program

Refugee Kids Education Program

At an age when children should only worry about playtime, these kids had to flee for their lives. These kids are Hindu refugees from Pakistan. Back home, their families faced brutal religious persecution, forced conversions, and generations of trapped bonded labor.

So their families ran away to India with nothing but the clothes on their back—just so their children could have a chance to grow up free and safe.

But now that they are in India, they are completely invisible to the political system coz they are not a vote bank. They receive no government help. They survived the journey to the promised land, but now they are being left behind.

Kailash foundation is working with on the ground volunteers who are running schools for 360 of these refugee kids in Jodhpur & Jaisalmer. In these makeshift schools, these kids finally get the education they deserve. For the first time they openly celebrate Holi and Deepavali without fear. Something they could never do back in Pakistan.

It costs exactly ₹550 a month to protect one child's education and childhood here. It's our chance to show them that they are finally safe, and welcome in Bharat.
